Dexter awakens after his car accident surrounded by flashing lights. While on a backboard being loaded into an ambulance he remembers killing Benny Gomez and putting the remains in the back of his car.

At the hospital Dexter is told he’s had a concussion. Dexter doesn’t remember the accident but insists he is okay. The doctor wants to keep him 12 hours for observation. A worried Rita runs into the room. Dexter lies and tells her he’s been cleared to leave.

Despite Rita’s insistence he stay home, Dexter goes to work that day so that he can sneak away and track down his totaled car.

Maria and Angel are still keeping their relationship secret.
